Announced on social media, the move was described as marking “a significant milestone in Millennium Advisors’ growth, reinforcing [its] commitment to the APAC region”. 

The strategic development is set to pave the way for enhanced global operations for the firm, as well as signalling Millennium Advisors’ commitment to its counterparties.

Earlier this year, Millennium Advisors partnered with fixed income software solutions provider Investortools to streamline workflows for municipal bond investment managers through digitisation. 

Through the partnership, Millennium is set to be fully featured as an electronic trading package for straight-through-processing, enabling users to lift, bid, counter and receive allocation details electronically directly within Investortools’ software.

To address the manually intensive workflow, Millennium will connect directly to the Investortools Dealer Network and provide real-rime pricing and trade execution capabilities.

Morgan Stanley appointed Daniel Wheeler as executive director institutional equities – derivatives. Wheeler joined the firm from Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking (SGCIB), where he spent the last three years as head of equities and equity derivatives for Australia. Prior to that, Wheeler served as director of global equity derivatives at Societe Generale for two years. Elsewhere in his career, Wheeler held equity derivatives-related roles at UBS, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan.

Imapx Asset Management appointed Ross Pamphilon as its new head of fixed income. According to a social media update, Pamphilon joined Imapax from Wells Fargo Asset Management, where he spent the last four and a half years as head of fixed income for the EMEA region. Prior to that, Pamphilon spent two decades years as chief investment officer at ECM Asset Management. Before joining ECM, he spent years at Merrill Lynch in local currency trading position. Elsewhere in his career, Pamphilon spent four years as an assistant manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Fixed income broker-dealer Millennium Advisors has appointed Dylan Blair managing director and global head of US dollar credit trading as the business continues its expansion efforts.

Charlotte-based Blair was most recently managing director – head of US investment grade credit trading at BNP Paribas in New York, and before that worked as an executive director and director at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch respectively.

Speaking to The TRADE, Blair said: “Fixed income trading is in a period of significant structural change. This presents enormous opportunities for innovative firms like Millennium Advisors. That’s one key reason why it’s a perfect time to take on this role.”

In this new role, he will be responsible for coordinating and managing the business’ global credit trading teams across a range of markets.

Blair, who has 20 years of experience in the industry, will assist with leveraging Millennium’s existing capabilities to access new trading opportunities.

Laurent Paulhac, chief executive of Millennium Advisors, said: “We have been looking for an individual with exceptional experience and skills within the credit and trading world, to lead our global US dollar franchise. Dylan’s background positions him ideally to drive our trading business and I’m very excited for the impact he can bring to this role.”

Appointment comes amidst the firm’s impressive year-on-year growth – 30% by trade count and 53% by volume in 2023. Other recent hires include: AJ Lindeman as head of quant, Jeremy Abig and chief financial officer, and Joe De Modna as head of global operations.
